GE 12,000 BTU Wall Sleeve Air Conditioner
Works as it should I live in a second floor studio apartment very hot from refrigerator (apartment size) in kitchen area I need to have a box fan in kitchen on high to keep apartment cool. My 8000 just was not working here. I hope it last many years for me.

Air Conditioner for a Building Sleeve
We bought a GE model air conditioner that was on display in the store. It was only one of two models that are made specifically for an apartment sleeve. We live in a 50 plus year old building. The air conditioner fit perfectly and is working well.

Too noisy
I bought the GE brand for the first time. It is too loud. The 3 fan speed is fine, but the sleep mode is not cool enough temperature wise.
The #1 issue is the squealing noise. I’ve seen other reviews that also mention this noise. If possible, I’d like to get this fixed.

Stopped working after 3 months of use
I bought this unit in March 2021, because the temps in NY were in the 50's till June I didn't start using it until June. It worked great until the end of August. I turned it off when I was going out for the day and it sounded like something fell inside the unit. I contacted GE and was told it was not repairable but, they would replace it. A week later I called again and told them I never received a call back and was told they couldn't find another one to give to me so they will refund my money. Today is Sept 20th and I'm still waiting for my money. I'm not at all happy!
