Microwave
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works as needed. Only thing, as others have expressed, It's hard to see the buttons, need the room to be lit in order to see.

Great microwave
The last microwave we purchased lasted 13 years. If this one lasts as long I’ll be happy.

Repeat customer for this manufacturer.
So far so good. Unpacked it and there was no damage. Plugged it in and set the clock. Looks just like the old one that broke after three years. Fired it up to heat some leftovers and it came out steaming hot. As far as durability, I hope it lasts longer than the than the old one (different brand) that had the new inverter technology. Within three years it was obselete and the part(s) for it cost more than the microwave. Haven't tried any of the other cooking functions so I can't comment on that. I do have other GE appliances, induction cook top and Profile refrigerator. Both are over 15 years old. That is why I picked GE over the other brands.

My Favorite Microwave
This is the 2nd time I have purchased this microwave. I bought one in-between and hated it. Came back to GE because it is easy to use, durable, does a great job, and I LOVE IT!!!

Has all the features I need at a good price
I have replaced my old, long serving GE microwave with another GE so, while I have not used it yet, I’m certain it will function just fine.
Be aware that the plug sticks straight out rather than hang down at a 90 degree angle. Because it sticks straight out you will not be able to push the unit back as far as you may want to. I’d suggest GE change this in future products for ALL appliances.

Great, even heating!
I have been so impressed with this microwave. The food is evenly heated every time! The food does NOT taste "microwaved". We are very pleased with this purchase!

Great new microwave for my apartment
I needed a new microwave to replace one that I had for over 15 years. I was searching for one with a good size and the most updated controls and features. I also wanted one that would cook food quickly. This one was the right find and at a great price.

First impressions
The product was damaged (has a ding) and the piece beneath the microwave dish (roller) was broken. We used the roller from the old one.

Great Features and Price
Great size, most were smaller than we needed, but this is large enough to handle what we need. The safety feature is something we will have to get used to, but it will be great when the grandkids are here. Controls are easy to read and it heats/defrosts perfectly!

CB microwave counter fit from
Wall plug design
Standard three-prong, grounded wall plug that plugs straight in to the wall socket adds one to two inches to the depth measurement of the microwave oven. Suggest redesigning of the wall plug to the three-prong snub-nose type grounded plug to provide better fit of this microwave oven, closer to the wall or cubby-hole for counter top applications.

Awesome microwave!!
So much better than my last microwave! Less wattage, but seems like it cooks faster. Smaller capacity than my old one, but it's perfect! Foods defrost perfectly on the defrost cycle too!

Compact, Powerful, Reliable!
We bought the previous generation of this model 14 years ago. It worked perfectly all that time until experiencing sudden death. We’re grateful GE is still making it because it fits perfectly into our space, and have been impressed with its reliability. It’s compact but powerful. It reheats, cooks, defrosts exactly as desired every time. It’s a countertop model we use as a “built-in”. They’ve added a child safety latch that we’ve disabled because it’s not needed in our household, but it’s a great feature for families with small children.

Great Oven
It's a great microwave and works really well. Ease of use is simplistic and straight forward. One complaint...in this day and age the door opener and closer could be more up to date with the times. This system of door lock has been around since I worked in a steel mill.

Perfect fit to replace an older built-in microwave
This GE model GCST16S1W1SS exactly fit the built-in cabinet for our 10 year old Whirlpool microwave, and it even fit perfectly into the old trim panel and the support bracket. Even the holes on the bottom of the new microwave fit exactly into the holes on the old support bracket. It made switching out the old microwave a breeze! We are so glad this product was available. It functions just fine and the whole cost was so much less than other options.
