GE provided not only a refrigerator that fit that space, but the capacity of the GE was way beyond expectations! Along with ample room for our needs, the flexibility of shelving placement and the space in the freezer were only added bonuses. The only disappointment was having a water dispenser on the inside rather than on the door. The dispenser is somewhat awkward to use. However, because of our overall satisfaction with the GE frig, we would buy the same refrigerator again.

The cooling system is strong and it fits perfectly in my kitchen. I just wish it had an ice maker but other than that it has everything i need! Good models with French doors and bottom freezers are hard to come by. I like that the ice and water are both internal. I wish the spout on the water was a little bit longer as it's difficult to fill up anything aside from a cup (a pitcher, measuring cup, etc). The ice bin takes up quite a bit of space in the freezer, which is smaller than our previous model. We plan to use acrylic bins to both organize our food and for a smaller ice bin so we can fit more food. I especially like that the door shelves are acrylic and one piece with no seams or fragile connections between pieces, so they *should* last for a long time without breaking. Our previous models have fallen apart, leaving shelves relatively useless. The only major con that I've noticed, that we also noticed with our previous model of another brand, is that you cannot stand up gallon or half-gallon sized drinks anywhere but the door without either a) putting two shelves so close together you wouldn't really fit any food on them or b) removing a shelf entirely. The shelves on the door are large enough for gallon sized containers, so plan on storing them on the doors or laying them down.

I have 5 kids (ages 10-21 when bought and I've had it 5 years now) I also have 7 grandchildren (all under 6) let me tell you it is durable! I wish the plastic door shelving was more durable because I've replaced 3 over the last 5 years and the freezer door was replaced 2 yrs ago and just broke again last night, it's the plastic piece between the handle and screws which are also hard to get to for replacement. BUT I can't complain it's simple maintenance!

I don’t know how anyone with any kind of mobility issues would be able to do it. I literally have to a)remove the ice basket (no big deal) and b) get down on my knees and reach all the way to the back of the compartment and blindly feel for the switch and slide in on or off. I’m a normally built person and cannot look into the freezer and just reach back to see that I’m making the switch. I have to get my arm as far back as I can from the side of the freezer drawer to make the s witch. I’ve her encountered such a less customer friendly feature.

New Fridge is making ice with some black residue on it. Have already dumped the first 3 buckets of ice, but it is still making this dirty (?) Ice.

You didn&rsquo;t really ask a question, but what you&rsquo;re describing is not normal or acceptable. &nbsp;I&rsquo;m not having any issues with the new fridge or the ice maker. &nbsp;Sounds like you need a service call. &nbsp;
