[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this unit for about one month. It is very efficient and heats food without hot spots or cold spots, something our previous microwave was plagued with. It is also very user friendly and attractive.
I would have rated it 5 stars except for:
1. There is too much sag in the door when closed. It does not line up well with the control panel, particularly on the bottom.
2. The interior light is too dim.
3. Should have a flat plug (like refrigerators) to allow for closer placement against the back wall.
Overall a very fine product, that will hopefully give us years of service. The door sag, however, is annoying and I would think is something that could be easily remedied.

Question features
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't really know much about my new counter microwave yet as I bought it for my new house, which I have been unable to inhabit until the fence company installed my fence which I needed for my dogs. It is finally done and I now need a weather break when my crew can actually move me. So far I have used it a few times and I am impressed with the power but wish I could set a cook time for say 15 seconds, without having to choose the smallest 1 minute time. I have the build in equivalent in my old home and love it, but may miss some of the features such as dinner plate, vegetable, beverage, etc. that I had on my old one. I will not know until I actually start to explore this one more.

The only negative to date is that the door window is too dark and the light is not very bright making it hard to observe anything cooking inside. Pros are that it is higher wattage and has better controls.

Wierd number pad
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This microwave is a nice size and the trim kit fits with it perfectly. However, this microwave does not have the traditional pad of numbers 1 through 9. For example to cook food for 9 minutes a user must push the 6 minute button and then the plus sign 3 times. It is the weirdest numeric system I have ever seen and very annoying. I hope that Kitchenaid stops making their control pads like this.

New model's trim kit doesn't work
Previous KA microwave went out, new model means new trim kit which doesn't work with the previous microwave even though they are both 27". Seems like they're just trying to generate sales at the expense of customer loyalty. Job well done!

No one step clock settings
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can't believe you didn't put a cook setting on the Microwave. How stupid is that. You put a 30 second timer, 1 Min, 2 Min, 3 Min, etc., but your stupid Marketing people don't think the consumer should set the timer for let's say 10 seconds, or 15 seconds, etc. You can set it for let's say 15 seconds but it takes you several steps to do it.

very frustrating
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i bought a different model and it wasn't working. they replaced it but the model had been "upgraded" I don't see well and didn't notice that it doesn't operate with numbers. the numbers on it are a pre-set thing. I can't get the power level that I want and we just use the 30 second reheat for everything. no I'm not happy with it at all.

Total mess

The first one stopped working after two weeks. The most recent one worked for about the same time but now the door won’t open when you push the button. What am I to do? Wait on the phone for another two hours?

You can't ask something to cook for 16 or 17 or 18 or 19 seconds. You can only adjust the time in increments of 5 or 10 seconds. This is crazy. I have never seen a microwave without the numbers 0 - 9. This makes this microwave very unfriendly.

Not easy to use.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hate this microwave. The keypad is not at all intuitive. Difficult to program for precise times for example: 1 minute 7 seconds. I shouldn’t have to constantly refer to instructions inside oven to determine what P1 (2,3,4) does. Keep warm function does not keep things very warm. I dislike the turn table. Unnecessary and prohibits use of larger cooking vessel.

Arcing on 4 year old microwave
This microwave was part of my builder’s appliance package when I bought my new- build home December 2019. It has had intermittent arcing issues over the past 6-9 months. Maybe once every couple of months. It was so intermittent that I didn’t replace it. It arced twice this weekend, so I’m now looking at repair or replace. I don’t want to have fire or smoke damage. Very disappointing as this was supposed to be a high-end, good quality microwave. It sits in a cutout in the kitchen island.

Trim kit does not fit
I purchased this model 2 weeks ago. Works great, love the features except for the recommended trim kit (MK2220AS0) I also purchased, the microwave trim kit does not fit around the microbe. What is also concerning to me is this kit is NOT vented like my other trim kit. I would appreciate knowing the exact trim kit for this expensive microwave as we too now have a huge gaps!!!
