Great room for the size
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just delivered 11/27/23 and it is working great so far. Self installed and no problems. Need to be sure to remove all tape including the thin tape line at the bottom off the doors and around the outside edge. Others complained about the compressor noise and the ice maker noise but mine is very quiet and only took 6 hours to reach true temperature at 34 degrees inside the fridge and -1 in freezer. Ice made twice in that time frame. Also complaints about the water filter but mine went in very smoothly. Have to ensure the insert lines up and should be the 3 and 5 o clock position then a slight turn to lock it. Ice maker is not noisy at all at least compared to modest priced refrigerators. Maybe very high end and high price makes silent ice but this one does the job. I will return in a few months to give another update but it installed great. This fridge did replace an LG that went out on me but I have 2 large dogs and that would require a once a month cleaning of the back of the fridge. I did not keep up with that and it burned out the compressor. I will take the blame there but there are few choices for this size and would hate to see bad reviews limit the choices further if they are not justified reviews. I hope to return with continued satisfaction in a few months.

So much space
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was the only refrigerator I found that fit our space and had a water and ice dispenser on the door. We had a side-by-side fridge before and the amount of space in this french door style is incredible by comparison. I saw it referred to as “cavernous” and have to agree. The LED light is nice and bright and the water dispenser area lights up when you’re getting water. It’s also tall, allowing room to fill water bottles.
I like the ice cube shape…smaller cubes instead of the crescent shape we’re used to. I’m a little nervous about having the ice maker in the fridge door since once the ice maker is manually switched off the cubes would melt and leak out. But that’s the price for an ice dispenser in the door. The on/off switch to the ice maker is clearly marked and doesn’t seem easy to accidentally turn off.
I like the folding half shelf that allows you to put taller items in one part of the fridge. The side gallon doors would hold a gallon of milk, but you’d have to take it out at an unnatural angle. I wish there was a way to adjust the side door shelf spacing to make one taller but the only way would be to remove a shelf entirely.
The wide deli drawer is nice, though it is shallow and doesn’t hold much more than a traditional one. Because of where we have the fridge, we can’t open the doors enough to pull the drawer out all the way, so we couldn’t put anything really wide in there (like a sheet cake or whatever).
And the freezer compartment is very roomy. Note there is not a second ice maker in the freezer but there’s a bin where you can store extra ice. Still plenty of room for everything we had in our old side-by-side freezer.
We probably won’t use any of the smart features on this but they’re there. Overall the fridge looks great and has enough features and plenty of space for us to be extremely happy so far. The extended warranty on the compressor and certain other components give me some peace of mind. Time will tell if it holds up and we ever buy another LG appliance.

Importance of Warranties
This is a wonderful refrigerator, but be sure to buy the warranty. My original one died in year 4 and thank God I had the warranty to replace it for free. If not, it would have cost me dearly. Personally, I would not buy any appliance without the warranty.

A step-up in refrigerators
This refrigerator is quiet, roomy, efficiently designed and attractive, with see-through drawers, re-arrangeable shelves, and ample space available in the doors. The icemaker works quickly and the cold water does not drip. The bottom freezer has two drawers; the larger drawer can be divided to accommodate how you want to organize the contents.

So Far So Good
It is still new, but I haven't had any problems (I wouldn't expect any yet). The compressor does make an odd sound - like a low rumble instead of the more familiar fan/compressor. Even the dog gives it a wide birth! That's the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. I love the space inside, it's nice and deep. You can't stick magnets to it, which might be a good thing.

love this refrigerator...but...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this refrigerator, but the drawers (glide and serve, and self serve drawer in freezer) don't pull out all the way. In order to get to the items in the back of the drawers, you have to unload the front. Very inconvenient. I also wish the storage on the doors was more useable.

Disappointed in refrigerator
Bought LG Refrig LRFXS2503S in April 2020. Within six months had ice maker replaced under warranty. Now main circuit board has died, which is out of warranty. Not a very long life for such an expensive appliance

Water dispenser water and ice taste like plastic. Tastes like a brand new shower curtain smells. Sooo much worse than the 2020 Samsung it replaced because of a defect.

More cheaply made than its predecessor-Comparison
I have owned the predecessor to this model, LFX25978, for about 10 years. We had the compressor replaced, like most LG refrigerators unfortunately, as well as the center bar between the two French doors. Otherwise, it served us well until May of this year, when a storm caused electric event fried the poor thing. I ordered the current model, LRFXS2503, to replace it as we are limited in our choices since the space is narrower than most models. This is a comparison.
• The shelves in the new unit cannot be changed from right to left as in the old and the brackets as well as the shelves seem a great deal flimsier. So, if you prefer your adjustable shelf to be on the left you cannot.
• The current unit has two fruit/vegetable drawers in lieu of the three in the old unit. I came to prefer the three drawers but this would be a personal preference.
• The ice maker in the left door is still the same and a great feature, though perhaps only for a small family.
• The delivery of the ice and water are from the same location in the current unit whereas the old unit you had to move the glass from the ice delivery to the water delivery port. Here you need to press the various buttons for what you want. I liked having the pull-out ledge on the older unit for larger containers to rest upon, the current unit does not have this.
• I have not been able to find it, if it is indeed a feature, but the current unit does not seem to have a way to shut off the open-door alarm. This is particularly annoying if you are cleaning the refrigerator. It is possible that LG meant the Sabbath Mode to substitute for this, but then the interior light goes off as well making it impossible to see what you are doing.
• The right-hand door on the current unit is incredibly difficult to close. You cannot just nudge it closed as with the left-hand door and it takes more than the usual effort to close it and the open-door alarm is always going off. This door quirk is really annoying.
• There is no butter shelf in the new unit’s right-hand door only three shelves, whereas the old one had the butter shelf as well as three other shelves. It does seem that the door shelves on both sides are a bit deeper on the current unit.
• The freezer door handle moves downward and then pulling to open the drawer and feels very flimsy. The older model was more substantial and just required pulling. The interior of the freezer compartment seems similar otherwise.
• The front panels of the current model allow for magnets whereas the older model did not.
We have only been using the new unit for about a week and it seems alright. However, given the very obvious decrease in the quality of the materials used on the new unit, I am disappointed. Side by side with the old model, the new one just feels cheap. Given the space restrictions for a refrigerator in our kitchen, there are only a few French door models with ice and water in the door made that will fit. I really did not have much choice. Had another brand’s model been available I may have given it serious consideration. Time will tell if the performance of this LG is good and reliable or disappoints just like the quality of its materials.
As to the vendors who sell LG, my experience at the blue box store was horrendous and whilst the orange box store was much better, their 3rd party delivery and set up reflects poorly on them.

Pros & Cons
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this refrigerator a couple months ago. We love the space it provides and the dual ice makers. However, there are a couple things we aren’t happy about and, had we know about them before hand, we would not have purchased this unit. First, the compressor makes a loud, high-pitched sound whenever it runs. It’s horrible. Apparently, though, this is how the fridge is designed and the sound is a by-product is its energy efficiency. In other words, we have to live with it. YOU DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT, TOO! It is so annoying! Second, the ice maker makes a horrible noise. It doesn’t do it every time - but it inevitably does it when guests are over and doesn’t do it when the repair man is here. Go figure. We were told to try to get video of it and we finally did. I’ll share it here. Maybe the repair person will come back out and fix it - but who knows. Third - the left door holds the ice maker and it closes easily (thanks to the weight). The right door must weigh a lot less, because it doesn’t close with a simple push. Thankfully the fridge beeps if a door is left open, but it’s going to take some time to get used to closing it more forcefully. For now, it beeps at us 2-3 times a day because the door doesn’t get shut all the way. Lastly, there is a slot in the freezer drawer that is perfect for pizzas. But unless your pizza is in a box, it will slide down under the drawer and end up on your floor.
Hopefully LG will make some adjustments to future models - but for now, I would not recommend this one. We paid too much money to have to deal with these issues and are very disappointed with this purchase.

Defective
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this in May 2020 and noticed for quite some time after about a month or so that fruits and vegetables were molding very quickly so I lowered the temperature and then noticed around Thanksgiving that things were not quite as frozen in the freezer and on 12/31/2020 realized that everything in the freezer was thawed and that there was no ice at all. I have had repair here 2 times now, and it is February 8th, 2021 and it is still not fixed. First I was told it was the sensor for the freezer, then they changed their minds and said it was the control panel for the freezer, which they changed 4 days ago and it is still not working. Nothing freezes, there is no ice and now I am noticing an extreme amount of condensation in the refrigerator!!! Wish to heaven they had reputable repair people who could fix this or maybe they should have just replaced the unit 2 months ago like I suggested when the item was still in stock!!

Compressor broke in Month 3
I love the features of the fridge, but it stopped making ice and freezing after only 3 months of it being in our home. The compressor/condenser broke and needs to be replaced. For this hefty price, it should not break. We have an extended warranty but now I am concerned for the longevity of this product.

Don’t buy.
Cheep crap. In two years of owning this lg lrfxs2503d refrigerator. I have lost two full freezers of food. Exactly one year apart Compressor has died. First time it ruined my kitchen floor. I do not recommend this refrigerator

Ice Maker Broke
The tube that provides water to the ice maker has permanently frozen. In order to repair this, I have to replace the entire left door. Yes, the entire door, not just the tube and/or heating element. Price for parts and labor is close to 1/3 of the original cost of the unit. Oh by the way, this happened about 1yr and 2 mos after purchase. If you read the rest of the poor reviews, you will see this hunk of junk fridge has a life expectancy of about a year or less. That is less than the hot sauce and mustard that it is keeping cool. Do not buy this fridge!!

Never had a fridge die so quickly
In just a few years, it completely died, ruining everything in the unit. I've never seen such a piece of crap in my life. It's underwarranty but apparently repairing it is a major multi-hour repair of the compressor and lines, Utterly ridiculous!!!! The ice machine is the worst - ice melts together in the defrost cycle forcing one to have to break up the ice chunk quite often.

Do NOT buy this refrigerator
After 1 year and 1 day of owning this refrigerator the temperature dropped and everything in the freezer melted, the ice melted and water went all over the floor, and the refrigerator was sitting at room temperature. Called for service and they replaced the compressor. Two days later, it went through the same thaw cycle.
The temperature fluctuates. Every 2-3 days it goes through some sort of thaw cycle where everything melts. It gets back up to temperature after a day or two and then drops back down to room temp.
LG repair tech says this is a known issue with this model. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this terrible refrigerator.

Good but Noisy. Keeps Mustard Mixed
Pros: Perfect size both in the fridge and freezer for our three person household. Nice water & ice dispenser. Good looking overall. Doors, shelves, etc. all working well so far.
Con: Noise/vibration when it is running, which at first we thought was a delivery truck idling on the street. We have tried adjusting position etc. to quiet it down to no avail. It also vibrates glass jars in the door unless they are placed just so.
