LG delivers as promised
This is our second LG fridge - the first being a 36" model in another house we have subsequently sold and so far, this 42" counter depth model has been all it promised to be. Temps are right on, no more frozen veggies and no more runny ice cream. The lighting is exceptional and having all the drawers and door self closing is exceptional.

Love the door shelves!
Adjustable door shelves are great, quick to adjust, and sturdy. I've never had a counter-depth refrigerator before, but I love the form factor, so much easier to find thing when the fridge is not as deep. Only two minor complaints, the it's not magnetic, so my kids were disappointed that they couldn't hang their artwork anymore, and the ice/water dispenser rotates through the modes, cubes->water->crushed, which is a little weird because if you're not paying attention you go from crushed->cubes and make a mess.

A modern day work of art!
I replaced my 20+ year old Counter depth Jenn-Air fridge with this beautiful LG Studio counter depth model. Exterior dimensions are identical but the interior on the LG provides more space because of its smart design. This fridge isn’t cheap but, you get what you pay for. Everyone who has visited my home and seen this new fridge has made similar comments…”WOW! What a beautiful fridge”. And, after opening the doors comment…”THE LIGHTING AND SHELVES ARE AMAZING!”

Three weeks in
Only have three weeks with the new 42" refer, but so far, we love it. Lighting is excellent and makes it very easy to see the entire contents without having to dig through everything. The self-closing dors and drawers are THE BEST! LG did an amazing job of desiging and building this product - well worth the ugly cost of a 42" refer. Well done!

Terrific side by side!
I had nursed an old refrigerator freezer because it was a built-in and I didn't want to destroy cabinetry. Finally it died. It was pure luck that this LG was available, and I redid my entire kitchen with LG products. I have been delighted! This side-by-side is beautiful, and even the interior lighting is exceptional. It is quiet, multi shelved, storage remarkable easy to access, and the exterior ice cube/water dispenser practical and convenient. Very happy! should have bought it sooner.

Door Opens Too Quickly from
Great Product, One Flaw
Overall, we are very happy with this fridge/freezer. We love its storage space, water dispensing unit, etc. The reason for only 4 stars is because the refrigerator door mechanism recently stopped working. By this I mean that the door used to close (and open) slowly, cushioned by some mechanism to slow it down. So, if you left the door slightly ajar, it would slowly draw itself closed. Likewise, when one opened the door, there was some resistance, so that one couldn't just fling the door open too quickly.
Well, now that doesn't work. We have a 5-year maintenance plan, so we had the technician out. It seems that the adjustment or fix for this is located behind the unit, not in front as the freezer door side has it. This means that to fix what is admittedly a minor inconvenience, the entire built-in unit would have to be pulled out! This requires coordination between two companies, and it simply not worth the hassle. I think this is poor engineering from LG, like placing the water pump in a car so that the entire engine needs to be removed to fix it.
Otherwise, we love the fridge! We just have to be careful not to fling the door open too quickly.

We have had the water in the dispenser frozen requently. Still waiting for replacement door to arrive for repair. This frig is said to be "stainless steel" where I bought it, but actually "stainless steel finish" on plastic

Great Looking Refrigerator
The refrigerator looks great and works as intended. The only negative I've noticed so far (installed for 2 weeks) is that the ice maker doesn't produce ice as fast as it should.

LG quality is not worth the price.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Stopped working several time and was Compressor was replaced and 4 months later it is not working again. Very disappointed with LG and have been a loyal customer for years and every other appliance I own is LG. I will be replacing it with another brand.
