Make Your Own Pub Shed
If you've haven't yet heard of pub sheds, get excited for your new summer DIY project! Pub sheds started in the UK and are quickly growing in popularity stateside. Are you ready to swap out the lawnmower and garden tools for a kegerator and bar stools? Here's what you'll need to get started:
The first thing you will need is a shed (obviously). Already have a shed? Then you’re one step ahead, and all you need to do is clean it out.
Next you will need to decide how you will store your beverages. There are a few different options, and you don’t have to stick to just one. Whether you want a kegerator, wine cooler, mini refrigerator, or, perhaps one of the coolest options, the new CHILL by Hisense, any will be perfect for your new retreat.
Don’t forget all the other beverage essentials you will need, like glassware. Check out our wine & bar center for add-ons like those.
When it comes to seating, the most common choice is bar stools. But depending on the size of your shed, you could fit a small couch, benches, or even hammocks. It’s all up to you! If you’re going the bar stool route, check out Pinterest for some inspiring ways to add some personality.
When the sun goes down, your pub shed is going to need some light. String lights are very popular and create a nice look, but if you're looking to take things to the next level, check out Philips Hue Lighting for awesome lighting ideas. Philips Hue allows you to change your lighting to any color of the rainbow right from your smartphone or tablet!
A Great TV
No pub is complete without a TV! Depending on how enclosed your pub will be, consider a TV designed for the outdoors. SunBrite TVs are designed for optimized outdoor viewing, and safe for use in outside conditions – rain, heat, cold, salt-air, humidity and dust.
Music is a must. With so many wireless and Bluetooth speaker options to choose from, it makes it easy to provide your pub shed with great tunes.
This is our favorite part. Have fun decorating your pub shed and letting your personality shine. At retroplanet.com you can find vintage bar signs and other fun décor.
Last but not least, you need a name for your backyard getaway!
