Why not go "Old School?"
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am writing this in lieu of my husband, because even though he paid for the washer, he does not like writing reviews - whereas I don't mind. Plus, I am the one who usually does the wash.
Our previous HE Maytag Washer finally bit the dust after 10 years. It was a good washer and initially I wanted to see if Maytag could come close to replicating that model. They did, but then I started reading reviews and reading a ton more and from different brick and mortar and online stores too. Sadly, they were more negative than positive. So I branched out with my research to not only different Maytag washer models, but other brands too. I fell in love with Bosch and a brand called Miele, both I believe from Germany. The prices were high, but the reviews were all great. And these washers were tested for a 20 year use! But what negated the final purchase more than the price tag, was that they only made these in small sizes to help utilize space. Yikes! Plus they were ALL front loading washing machines!
** I am not a huge fan of front loading washers, and I can't be bending down to load or unload a washing machine due to the washers' height. Nope, not at my age, my knees tell me, "NO!"
So I ditched that idea of a Miele or a Bosch (both superb brands!), and decided to look into "Commercial Grade Washers". I decided to go to something traditional . . . more old school. And I wanted to find something perhaps similar to the Maytag washing machine my mother had for years and years that worked without any problems. Then I found the Maytag Commercial-Grade Residential Agitator Washer - 3.5 cu. ft. Model Number MVWP585GW Serial Number CE1400051.
** The reviews were good, and best of all, the washer would fill up (depending on the load) with enough water and not like the HE Maytag I had previously! Of course it had water, but it never seemed to be enough water even for a large load of clothes, linen, or towels. Which I always found frustrating.
Now honestly, this is the kind of washing machine you might find in a laundromat for high use. It does not have all the bells and whistles of the HE models, nor does it have a pretty sounding chime to alert me when the wash is done. But that's perfectly okay. Use common sense, and after a while you get to know automatcially when a wash is done. It's easy to use. It has an agitator. And there are NO computer chips to set a wash through your phone, and that also means less electronics and possibly useless junk to break down.
I am not adding any photos, because it looks exactly like the photos online.
It does not look sleek and pretty like the newer washing machines, and yes, a lot more clunky looking! But the trade off is worth the 5 stars, if not ten:
** It's farily simple to use. In fact, super easy!
** The washer is fast.
** The wash comes out clean.
** Enough logical choices to set a wash.
** Enough water to actually wash your clothes! Plus the water temperature choices are even better than my old HE Maytag, I had previously.
** There is an area to add liquid bleach if that is your preference, and an area on top of the agitator to add any liquid fabric softener.
** Being a commercial grade washer, I expect we will have this machine worry free for years to come!
Yes, I am quite pleased with this Commerical Grade, "Old School" Maytag.
Sometimes simpler is better.

Feeling Blessed

We got the Commercial ones so they should get us through the rest of our days, with me being 75 and my wife 63. Maytag means Quality and longevity! Our last set wasn’t the commercial models, but they were still going after 25 years! 😎🇺🇸

An Intuitive Washer that Cleans Well
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace a 12 year old Kenmore High Efficiency washer. Evidently a sensor had failed and the Kenmore would not properly spin a load. I wanted to replace this washer with a Maytag similar to the one my wife and I have had in our other home for about 40 years and still works quite well. In that time I have only had to replace the friction damper and belts. Yes, I do the repairs myself. This new Maytag was as close as I could get to that old, dependable washer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the old school top loader but with added bonus of being able to choose 4 different water levels. Fast cycles and finally clean clothes. I tried the newer low water models and clothes take 2x as long and while Iess water but longer in electricity and I know my clothes are rinsed good and clean the 1st time. It can do comforters with ease also just make sure use bulky deep rinse on those since the agitating is a pull down effect so turns that comforter really good. I put a colored washcloth in the wash to see and it turned it over so many times I don't need to check no more. Now yes more water but again you can control your levels too. I did check eash water level so I know for future loads to see since said low was 8 gal medium 12 high 18 and full didnt say but think 22 if I read my meter right . Again yes more water but clean the 1st time. And 5 year warranty on it. I had old one 17 years and another one and warrenty issues get fixed at no cost to you and if needs replaced due to same components are defective then they will replace and start a new warranty for replacing the day you get. You can't beat that. Not all maytags come with the 5 year so check model but this Mvwp575gw or the new ones the Mvwp576gw commercial one does.

Just like the classics!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best washer I’ve owned in years. It is just like the old school ones we had in the 80s and 90s. The clothes get wet and clean, and there is no seals to get musty and moldy. I wish the water continues to run when you open the lid, but other than that it is perfect.

Very Pleased

Heavy Duty Washer!

Good investment!

Simple. Effective. Timeless design

Therefore cleans better and more reliable than anything else. Had to get the commercial washer to get one like this as they don’t make them like this anymore. Please dont ever change this washer to add electronic nonsense. Cleans clothes very well.

Love it!!
