Love our MAYTAG washer and dryer!

Consistently Top Quality

I'm enjoying my new Maytag with the updated, environment friendly features. My only issue is it does not quite color match my 43 years old Maytag dryer.

Simple, effective and gives you a full fill option

I wanted (and got) a deep filling, large capacity, simple function, top load washer with a great, long warranty. It’s not very quiet, but that wasn’t a concern of mine. I’d say the only thing I don’t love is that it does have a locking lid :/ But that being said, I do love that the clothes come out quite dry from a fantastic spin cycle- saving drying time! This washer doesn’t have a crazy amount of functions, but all the necessary ones including an option to soak, and/or extra rinse, along with different agitation and temp. options. I was between this and a Speed Queen, and this one won due to capacity. I’ve only had it 8months, (and I hope to have it for many more yrs) but so far, I’m VERY happy with my choice. I had borrowed a front load Samsung when my 15+yr old top load Whirlpool died, just before buying this, and HATED it! Such long wash times, so little water, and nothing came out clean. I’m a bit picky and would hands down recommend this washer :)

Amazing washer!

Great Machine!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our unit has been in service since 02/24/2025 and has been great. Simple, solid controls with a variety of settings that I'd think should satisfy most anyone without "digital" interference. The inner workings make some strange noises for those of us whom haven't purchased laundry machines in over 20yrs, but you learn that it's really okay and does a fine job. Built like a tank just as their commercial grade dryers.

Great washer

I know this is not about the dryer, but the dryer went out with in Five usages Yes, I only had it for two days before it went out and it was brand new so I called Maytag and they sent a repair man out which took a week and he diagnosed as the motor going out within a week of owning it but he came back out next week fixed

Extremely durable

Nothing but pleased!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this a couple of months ago and are nothing but pleased. This machine is very quiet even in spin mode. Clothes spin our nearly dry. And no damage to any articles of clothing. I like getting to choose water levels and temperature. Note that you will have to cancel and restart your load if you decide a change is needed.

No Nonsense Washing Machine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced my existing Whirlpool washer only because I'm looking at retiring in the next couple of years and wanted to upgrade before I do. I loved that it has dials and timers. Furthermore, I'm certainly not anti-tech, but It's just not needed for washing or drying my cloths. It does an amazing job of cleaning, I do however have to get a handle on the correct water depth.

Maytag for the Win

Why not go "Old School?"
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am writing this in lieu of my husband, because even though he paid for the washer, he does not like writing reviews - whereas I don't mind. Plus, I am the one who usually does the wash.
Our previous HE Maytag Washer finally bit the dust after 10 years. It was a good washer and initially I wanted to see if Maytag could come close to replicating that model. They did, but then I started reading reviews and reading a ton more and from different brick and mortar and online stores too. Sadly, they were more negative than positive. So I branched out with my research to not only different Maytag washer models, but other brands too. I fell in love with Bosch and a brand called Miele, both I believe from Germany. The prices were high, but the reviews were all great. And these washers were tested for a 20 year use! But what negated the final purchase more than the price tag, was that they only made these in small sizes to help utilize space. Yikes! Plus they were ALL front loading washing machines!
** I am not a huge fan of front loading washers, and I can't be bending down to load or unload a washing machine due to the washers' height. Nope, not at my age, my knees tell me, "NO!"
So I ditched that idea of a Miele or a Bosch (both superb brands!), and decided to look into "Commercial Grade Washers". I decided to go to something traditional . . . more old school. And I wanted to find something perhaps similar to the Maytag washing machine my mother had for years and years that worked without any problems. Then I found the Maytag Commercial-Grade Residential Agitator Washer - 3.5 cu. ft. Model Number MVWP585GW Serial Number CE1400051.
** The reviews were good, and best of all, the washer would fill up (depending on the load) with enough water and not like the HE Maytag I had previously! Of course it had water, but it never seemed to be enough water even for a large load of clothes, linen, or towels. Which I always found frustrating.
Now honestly, this is the kind of washing machine you might find in a laundromat for high use. It does not have all the bells and whistles of the HE models, nor does it have a pretty sounding chime to alert me when the wash is done. But that's perfectly okay. Use common sense, and after a while you get to know automatcially when a wash is done. It's easy to use. It has an agitator. And there are NO computer chips to set a wash through your phone, and that also means less electronics and possibly useless junk to break down.
I am not adding any photos, because it looks exactly like the photos online.
It does not look sleek and pretty like the newer washing machines, and yes, a lot more clunky looking! But the trade off is worth the 5 stars, if not ten:
** It's farily simple to use. In fact, super easy!
** The washer is fast.
** The wash comes out clean.
** Enough logical choices to set a wash.
** Enough water to actually wash your clothes! Plus the water temperature choices are even better than my old HE Maytag, I had previously.
** There is an area to add liquid bleach if that is your preference, and an area on top of the agitator to add any liquid fabric softener.
** Being a commercial grade washer, I expect we will have this machine worry free for years to come!
Yes, I am quite pleased with this Commerical Grade, "Old School" Maytag.
Sometimes simpler is better.
