The inside has an elegant design and is very spacious and easy to wipe clean. It fits perfectly under our cabinets without encroaching on the space over our range, which was a problem with our old full size OTR microwave. The vent works well without being a loud nuisance. The light underneath has two settings, which is convenient. It does have a timer function, but you have to open the door to use it, and the microwave runs so quietly that you could easily run the microwave thinking you're running the timer and blow up the microwave (speaking from experience). Therefore, we just use the timer on our stove or Alexa, which is louder. I don't love having to open the door to operate the keypad functions (besides the 30-sec., Open, and Cancel buttons which are on the outside), but I do appreciate the clean look that the hidden keypad affords us. This microwave has some shortcut/preset options that we have yet to explore. I am pleased with this purchase.

The turn dish comes off and I have a hard time getting it back on.

I agree with the other customer's assessment. It's can be troublesome trying to get the wheel and glass plate moving together when you remove them to clean the items. It works eventually by trial and error.

Can this be installed with an 18"d cabinet? or is 12" d required for venting panels on top?

I would not, the recommend distance gives room for the heat  not to get the microwave to hot

Just had the microwave installed this week. It's beautiful but am having trouble learning to use it, i.e., there's no start button. Also, it is normal for it to steam up if something is boiling on the stove below it? I have to wipe it off afterwards.

I'm used to having a light from the hood over my stove. This microwave has a work surface light? Does it light up from beneath the appliance? Or is there a light on it that does?

no, it originally comes configured to recirculate without venting. you would have to change it vent up through the cabinet or out the back wall. hope this helps.
