Stylish, reasonable, basic microwave
Inexpensive, attractive, serviceable appliance. I bought this to replace a defunct GE microwave and oven. This, though 20 years younger, looks and works the same, minus the convection feature. Amen to that!

I did NOT want this one......

I love this microwave! I had another brand for 16 years and this GE fit right onto the old fittings. Took 10 minutes to install. Love the sleek look (all black). Reheat function is perfect. Food reheats at just the right temp. Defrost function works really well. Can't say enough good things about this microwave. Great value for a reasonable price. You won't be disappointed!

All features needed!
I was replacing my microwave and stove with new GE products. I have no issues with GE but microwave was 15 years old and would have cost more to fix than to replace. The men who came to install and remove old ones were very professional and checked both items to make sure all functions worked properly.

There is a very loud, annoying noise that comes out of the microwave each time you use it. It just started happening about a week ago and it is not even a month old yet that I have it and it didn't happen before. Anyone know why this is happening?

Wondering if the mounting bracket I have now for my GE Spacemaker jvm1650sh will be the same as this model? Doesn’t sound like it will from comments
I replaced an older GE Microwave with this GE model and the bracket footprint had indeed changed and needed replacing but it wasnt a big problem! More importantly the change meant that different holes had to be drilled in the overhead cabinet.and I would recommend that if an installer is doing the job to take care that holes are drilled BEFORE the microwave is put on its bracket or a ton of wood shavings will end up inside the interstices of the microwave as I discovered when needing service.

I must replace GE model JVM 1540SPSS. Does new one use same brackets for installation?
Bracket is very similar but mounting holes are off by a little bit I was very annoyed by this change and had to improvise exact replacement microwave and they had to change mounting holes was not happy by this

does this have a full bracket on the back or a top or bottom bracket? Just had a new micro delivered to find out i can't use a bottom bracket.
The microwave comes with a "I_I" type mounting bracket. it goes through the bottom and two sides (back of the microwave facing the wall) of the microwave.

Replacing a 14 yea GE mv and having difficulty because of my space. 30 1/2" total, left wall and right hand cabinets. Best I have gotten a door that opens only half way because of wall. Q: does this model width,29.8" work for open door?
