Excellent choice
I am a Mac user, to setting up this printer was pretty much a plug and play affair. Instructions for filling the ink tanks were straightforward and it was easy to do. Not to useful is the app and communication between it and my phone could be confusing. However, I managed to finish the setup using the printer panel and that worked well. I am very pleased with the quality of printing and also, that the printer works even if it has not been used for a couple of days.

Good choice of options!
Kudos to Epson for continuing to make quality printers that can run on older operating systems! This drove my choice, as I like to own my applications and don't see myself paying a subscription for life, so I use older systems that service the way I chose to run my life and business. Even installation and setup, which was quick and easy, gave many options, and wasn't designed to 'nudge' consumers into a model that they don't want. Technology works for you, you don't work for it.

Ultra-reliable, inexpensive workhorse
I have had my Epson ET-2850 for over two years and it gets heavy use all day, every day. HEAVY use. I had to add black ink about a year ago; I still have half-full bottles of magenta, yellow and cyan inks that haven't been needed yet (2 years!!!) I have had zero maintenace trouble; have done only the usual alignment checks and nozzle cleaning. I've been buying printers since 2004 or so and for general-purpose printing, this is my baby. (I have an older Epson Photo Stylus 3000 for my photograpy.) I LOVE this printer.

Smaller, faster, and more quite
We've owned a Workforce model for years. This new Ecotank model of smaller, lighter, better looking, and WAY more quite when printing. Feels so good to be rid of cartridges (and recycling them) and the double-sided printing at this price point is such a good deal!

Because I haven't had this very long I can't give a detailed review, but everything so far has been great. Ordering and delivery were great and setup was easier than I expected. Scan and two sided printing were a breeze to do. Once I print more detailed color I may move to 5 stars. Not there yet.

The initial setup was somewhat easy. However when it came to entering the Wi-Fi SSID and Password I was disappointed to see my password was in clear text. I think this can easily be resolved with a code fix. Other than that I’m really enjoying my new product.

Decent home printer. I did not realize it had no Ethernet port as I like to hard wire my printer. Also has trouble holding the WiFi connection even though it only 24” from the router.

Ink tanks good idea, printer itself not so good
I bought this to print some marketing materials for a friend, and the ink cost was my driving factor. But the printer itself gets frustrating fast. You have to set paper type on the printer itself (not just envelope/paper, but matte, plain, etc). If you do t specify same paper type on your device, you’ll get an error. Even in Epson app it doesn’t know what you’ve set on printer. Then once all that is finally set, it jams constantly. Especially printing double sided. And today it inexplicably canceled the print job, and it’s just text! You’ll can easily spend hours just printing a few pages. I like the idea of the ink tanks and cost saving, but the printer mechanics are the fatal flaw.

OMG, I would've paid more for a bigger LCD screen!
takes 10 forevers to setup wifi.
LCD window is way to SMALL. why be so cheap on a LCD panel? 2x3 is bigger then 1x1!
