You have to hit the on button twice for it to start or it goes off. It works well. Not using the Wi-Fi features so I probably didn’t need this expensive a model but it was sold to me as a replacement for my old one

I purchased this hoping it would fit in my existing Friedrich sleeve, a “S” or small, which already has brackets installed and “tapcon”-ed in the exterior brick wall; I did replace the sleeve anyway because the new one had more air holes on top. This unit apparently moves about 3x as much water as the next less-expensive unit and would not need filler pieces to fit in the existing sleeve, either. I had to innovate to properly install in my aluminum storm window which has a lip projecting over the sill (some special tools, hardware/materials were needed),but curbside delivery was fast and easy ( I own a handtruck).

I am very happy with my new Friedrich A/C wall unit, it replaced basically the same unit that was over 17 years old. This unit is quieter and I very much like the remote control. I only wish I had better control of the direction of the air flow, but it cools wonderfully.

I chose a Friedrich unit in order to replace my other Friedrich that i had for 18 years. The installation was great. However, I experienced a problem with the unit the next day. I wasn't able to turn the
unit off or on manually. I contacted the store and they sent a repairman out within a week. So far
the unit has been working well and meeting my expectations. I am hoping that I will get the same
long term use of it without problems because the unit was very expensive.

Friedrich Kuhl 11,900 BTU Window AC
So far (I've only had it for 3 weeks) it's been working great; it should for the price. I thought the salesman said it was 14,000 BTU which I thought strange since I believe the largest window AC is 12,000 BTU (no big deal). Quiet even at the highest fan setting (low, med, high, max). Pushing the power button only lights the control panel but you then have to push the power button again for the panel to display the mode, fan, speed and temp settings. Likewise, to power down the AC you have to push the power button twice. An oddity I could not find in the manual (neither that the power button has to be pushed twice or the reason why). Also, I assumed it had "accordion" panels but it does not. The space between the AC and the widow frame is filled with a "custom cut" piece of plexiglass by the installers for an extra $100 (the salesman told me it "might" need the plexiglass but I didn't think it would because I thought the unit came with "accordions"). If you intend to install it yourself, unless you are a pro wrestler you will need two people to place the AC unit in the window. BTW I never rate any product 5 stars unless it's super extraordinary, like it also does the dishes.

The Friedrich through the wall AC.
I'm having difficulty with the remote control, no menu appears when I turn on the unit. I have to fiddle around manually until a screen comes up that I can use. I have two other Friedrich ACs in the house which are trouble free.

1. Disappointed led display doesn’t stay on. 2. No temperature of room. 3 Can not connect to WiFi . I’ve checked reviews on the app majority of owners have same problem App is rated at 11/2 stars! They get no help from Friedrich 4 remote has no display window only buttons. For $1200 you would think there would be more bells and whistles. It’s threw the wall so I paid for that so cannot return. Very disappointed oh but yea it’s quiet Hard to set timer

Expected more for the money...
For the cost of this ac I expected the remote to have a screen on it to easily see what you’re selecting for temperature, speed, and other settings. Also, the ac isn’t user friendly when trying to set up the timer and I haven’t been able to successfully pair the ac to the app so I could turn on/off the ac when I’m not home. The ac is powerful but I’m disappointed bc I’ve purchased less expensive ac’s in the past that had more bells & whistles and they worked just as good.

Just wanted to confirm. This does not come with a sleeve correct? My in wall space already has one so I wouldn’t need it if it did.
My unit did come with a sleeve but the installers jammed it into the sleeve for the previous unit and it was NOT a good fit.

It’s 29” in depth. The a/ is going thru the would you need a set of brackets to put under the sleeve
Just seeing this question. The unit came with a very sturdy bracket that was sufficient to mount it through our window. Check the dimensions of the other wall thrus in your building and see if similar sized units require a bracket.

trouble connecting to WiFi. Tried and tried. It shows the network in my settings on my iPhone but getting a message wrong ssid name or password. I’ve researched the app and this is a major complaint setting the WiFi. Anyone have luck connecting to WiFi
There two options you can do (1) Call Friedrich Customers' Service for setting up the IPhone to respond to your WIFI. (2) Call Apple Care to help you set-up your phone. When I have problems with any of my appliances I always go to the company that made it. They are the only ones that can really help. I am sure you will be able to solve the problem through them. The IPhone is a very sensitive phone but once you set it up accordingly it will work without a problem. At this time, your phone is not set-up correctly. Good Luck!
