This is a quality a/c. Really cools well. Easy to operate. This is my Kuhl. I have one in another room. The PC Richards installation was excellent. My salesperson, Anthony, in Bellmore: excellent. Highly recommend PC Richards and this a/c unit.

cools terrifically I do not like that you have to double tap on/off switch to turn on and off AND the LED display goes off. You also do not know if it goes turns off when in energy saver mode

A noisy air conditioner
I bought this Friedrich Kuhl 8000 BTU through the wall Air conditioner from PC Richard on June 29, 2020 and they did a beautiful job professionally installing it a few days later. Unfortunately the air conditioner is noisy and vibrates whenever the compressor turns on. A PC Richard technician inspected the unit and told me to order from Friedrich a new front panel and I did. The new front panel helped a little bit with the noise but the front panel door continued to rattle so I attached two small pieces of Velcro to the door and this helped stop the rattling. Friedrich claims that their air conditioners are up to 45 percent quieter than the competition, but it is not true for this one. I now have three Friedrich through the wall air conditioners and one other brand and this Friedrich is a big disappointment since It has a noisy compressor, vibrates and it's not quiet. Just read the other PC Richard reviews for yourself.

Cools off bedroom nicely but transitions from being quiet to noisy. It wakes me up sometimes and is annoying. I was told it was quiet. Very misleading.

Disappointed with new air conditioner install
Disappointed with installation and with handling defective air conditioner. The room was a mess full of plaster dust. No drop cloths, no exhaust fan. Took me 90 minutes to clean up the mess. Air conditioner lasted less than three weeks before all the coolant leaked out. Should have replaced it but they soldered the leak and gave me back the same unit

This is not a good model Frederick kuhl 8000 btu. There is a flashing light inside the A/C that is very annoying especially at night and there is an annoying sound every 10-15 minutes. I hope PC Richard can replace this as I purchased 4 Friedrich A/C from them. This model is not a good one for me.

Wish it was quieter.
Maybe 2.5 stars. Too loud even on the low setting. Wouldn't be as much of a problem if it wasn't in the bedroom. Vent rattles. Store replaced it, rattles less but still rattles. If I put my hand on the vents it stops rattling. Not sure why this is.

Too LOUD!
This machine is very loud, plus every time the compressor kicks in, it sounds like a truck starting. I would have returned it but I didn't have the original packaging.

Having had other Friedrich units I am very disappointed in this unit especially given the price. It is very noisy and the front covers makes a buzzing sound which hurt my ears.

Very loud
We are four generation of loyal Friedrich customers. The 8,000 BTU model KCS08A10A, which was purchased in June of 2020, is very noisy. It sounds like an airplane preparing for take-off.
In August 2018, I purchased Friedrich Model SM18N30C and this unit does not make anywhere near the noise the 8,000 BTU unit makes.
In addition, I believe, that the design of the sleeve with the vents on the top allows the rain, dust and dirt in the environment to get into the AC mechanism, possibly affecting the performance and longevity of the unit. In the fall we always cover our units until summer, but when the units are in use, there is not any protection against environmental impurities.
I am very disappointed with this purchase

This unit is a piece of junk. The directions are terrible. A lot of pictures with bad explainations. It looks like they didn't translate well from another language. The cover rattles. I put some foam tape inside the cover to fix it. The auto fan is really the energy saver mode. The fan does not reduce speed as the room cools. The timer does not work. I can't get the timer to turn the unit on. I tried to hook up to the wifi hoping to get the timer to work but I could not hook up the wifi. I emailed Friedrich but no reply. I contacted them on Twitter. The told me to DM them. They said customer care would get back to me. A week later still no reply. I will contact PC Richards tomorrow . I know they will make this right. I gave it 1 star because it does cool down the room.

Just bad
Wasted an hour trying to setup the wifi and it still doesn’t work. Many bad ratings for the wifi feature out there so don’t pay extra for this if that’s what you are looking for. It periodically makes odd noises and blows hot air. Been on two hours and room is still hot.

It comes with the sleeve but I did not need it so they took with them. Don’t love this unit only bought because it fit the opening. Remote control is difficult and it is not cool enough! Very noisy

Why is keypad not working but remote is?
