The only irritation is if I forget to turn the vent fan on when using a burner it quickly sets the smoke alarm off because there is minimal space between the stove top and the microwave bottom.

Where is the vent located ? is it self venting micro ? I'm replacing the one I have and the venting is above the microwave door on the top of the unit directly in the front where the seam of microwave door and actual unit are and are about an inch deep
