The Maytag washer and dryer we purchased has a function that its purpose is to assist in the removal of the daily attack that is 28lbs of hair with legs, thank you. Love the design and operation of this washer. The sale put it at a reasonable price point providing it lasts and is as reliable as advertised. We are glad Maytag offers a washer and dryer with minimal bells and whistles lending to less things to break. Thank you for what appears to be a fine and outstanding product. And yes, the hair assist without a doubt helps to collect and contain hairballs.

Very Happy With This Washer!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m really happy with this washer! I needed a new washing machine and ended up going with the Maytag Top Load Agitator Washer with Extra Power and Pet Pro Option. I honestly feel like I made a great choice.
One of the things I really like is that this washer actually fills the tub with a good amount of water. I know a lot of newer washers are designed to use less water, but I personally like having plenty of water in the tub so my clothes can really soak and get cleaned. The agitator does a great job of moving everything around, and my clothes come out clean and fresh.
The Extra Power option is also a great feature. I like having the option to give certain loads an extra boost when clothes are especially dirty or have tougher stains. The Pet Pro option is another nice bonus, especially if you have pets and are constantly dealing with hair on your clothes, blankets, and bedding.
I’m also really impressed with the spin cycle. It spins the clothes really well and gets out a lot of the water. My clothes come out much less wet than they did with my old washer, which means less time in the dryer. That has been a huge plus for me.
Overall, I’m very happy with this washer. It cleans well, has plenty of water, has a strong spin cycle, and the extra features are actually useful. It feels like a solid, well built washer, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good top-load washer with an agitator. Definitely a 5 star purchase for me!

Pet Pro = Game Changer

I am amazed at the hockey puck of hair, neatly compressed and easily removed from the special filter! Coupled with a filter on the drain hose, I believe we have finally resolved the slow or clogged drain issues we were experiencing. The machine is fairly quiet and has all the options we need. Loving it so far!

Great Investment!

Grateful to have the agitator back in my life and the Pet Pro filtration demonstrates what my previous washer was lacking. The only issue I have is when washing heavier blankets/bedding, the drums balance malfunctions and I am forced to extract saturated contents to reposition in order to continue cycle. Guess I could remove agitator; instead I run smaller loads. If you are seeking a simplified efficient affordable washer, strongly recommend this one!

The Best Washer I've Owned So Far

I have two dogs, including an Australian Shepherd who sheds like crazy, so pet hair has always been a constant battle. The Pet Pro filter has made a noticeable difference—it catches a surprising amount of hair, and my clothes come out with very little left on them.
Beyond that, the washer does an excellent job cleaning. Clothes come out fresh, spotless, and the Extra Power option is great for towels, bedding, and heavily soiled loads. The large capacity is also a huge plus because I can wash bulky items without any problem.

Well built and simple, a little loud
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were looking for a relatively simple washing machine that was build like a tank. So far we have had zero issues with it. Our clothes have been coming out clean and the filter seems to do a good job removing pet hair. The drum is large and fits a lot of clothes, I have noticed that when overly full the clothes do not get as clean. The agitator works best when you drop clothes down in a small ball (not wrapped around the agitator) which lets the move more and get cleaner through the agitator's action. I believe it will last for a long time and the 10 year warranty is peace of mind that it was built well. The one drawback I have noticed has been that it is much louder when filling and running than our previous washing machine. The noise is not enough to reduce my overall rating however, just thought I'd mention it so you know I'm not a shill for Maytag and getting paid to give them a good review. I would definitely purchase this washer again.

When the clothes spin dry, they are truly dried and the time has drastically cut down the amount of time it needs in the dryer. It is no better or worse than my Bosch machine at taking out stains, which means some need to go thru the wash more than once. I just wish it had a fabric softener dispenser built in. I don't like to use fabric softener sheets in the dryer.

Love My Maytag

It didn't have any special features like this one does and was a lot smaller in capacity. This machine cleans our clothes and really helps with all the pet hair, we have 2 cats and a dog. I like how the agitator doesn't tear the clothes apart and how the spin cycle removes most of the water so it saves on my drier as well. It also doesn't waste water, living in a desert we can appreciate that.
