Rated 5 out of 5 by from Assure 2 lock I have original Assure on another door. I really like the increased functionality in the app. Good improvement. Just follow instructions very carefully when doing setup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Perfect I am replacing version 1 locks with this version 2. So easy. Install was simple and well explained. Nice to now have the WiFi modules in the lock and not a wall wart. Integrates with the August app seamlessly. Simple istall and simple app set up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and clean. Works great! pretty straightforward install. Most difficult thing was learning that I had to invite family as "guests" to provide access to all Yale locks in the house. But super pleased with how well it works and looks great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek Lock I bought these back in September for a full house renovation. I actually put 4 of these locks in our house to cover all the entry points. These were going to be tied into our Home Automation setup so it was between these and the Alfred Locks. I went with these mainly for the features. Pros: One of the best looking locks I have seen in a while especially with the smaller footprint. The door sense feature is great because I can actually use it as a door contact sensor in Smart Things. I wish this same aspect was available with the Google integration. Locks are pretty quiet compared to my old Kwikset Encodes. The ability to use different modules to support different protocols is game changer. my plan is to update all the locks to the Matter Protocol when available. Finally installation was a breeze, it tooke under 30 minutes to install this lock. Cons: Nothing is perfect but the nice thing about these cons they are not hardware related. The Yale Access App could use some work. Things like syncing entry codes for a user across multiple locks would be insanely helpful. In addition having the ability for something like Smart Things to control entry codes would also be great. The other thing is the battery life. I know on WiFi these things will take a hit so hoping the newer battery efficient modules come out soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from re: simple and convenient This not our first Yale purchase and won't be our last. The device is easy to set up and easy to use. Allows a separate code for all family members and can be operated from far away. We also use these at our rental properties. Tenants appreciate the ease and convenience. Would definitely recommend!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This deserves 10 stars I wish I could give this thing 10 stars. We love the convenience of one touch locking, it’s a game changer when you have your hands full or the little kids are running in and out. We can give one time access to a repair man or unlimited access to close family. It’s sleek design matches any decor as well which was important to me. Installation was a breeze, especially when just replacing a previous deadbolt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yale Assure Lock 2 - Best Smartlock on the market I was skeptical at first, as I was a long-term Schlage smart lock customers and was contemplating if I should once again go with Schlage to replace all the deadbolts in our new house. So glad I went with Yale. These locks are rock solid, secure, easy to install, and look amazing. The app is one of the best parts, as I can easily manage all my locks for me and my entire family, issuing electronic keys and codes for everyone who needs access. As long as Yale maintains the excellent quality of locks and apps they have today, I’ll continue to recommend Yale smart locks to all my friends and family, and will buy more for our other properties.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm locked in to the Assure Lock 2 A very sleek, modern design that is perfect for today's busy world. no keys needed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some good, some frustrating Functions well enough as a stand-alone smart lock and has a relatively minimal form factor, but fails to stay connected to a WiFi network and won’t sync up properly with HomeKit.
Date published: 2022-12-05
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice smart lock but has WIFi issues. The Yale Assure Lock 2 is a good smart lock. Easy to install and setup. However the app could use some improvements because it is cumbersome to add codes and users. Also my locks keep dropping off the WiFi network and then a couple minutes later they are back. This is troublesome. The locks are within 50 ft of the AP and have a strong signal so I don’t know what is causing this problem. Because of this issue I cannot rate these locks any better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great lock but bad expectations The locked is great and works. The only reason why I give it a 3 is because the advertisement makes you believe it does homekey, which is why I bought it, but then doesn’t. Just supports the Yale app on Apple Watch. The auto open would have been the saving grace but it’s wildly inconsistent. Seems to maybe only work when I have the app opened on my phone which is incredibly dumb if that’s the case. Why would I stand in front of my door and get my phone out and not just push the pin.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good hardware, software, something to be desired The updated device is sleek, but the app and remote access is a bit Jenkee.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lack of compatibility with ring and overpriced Not compatible with ring, extremely confusing models with different capabilities..Wi-Fi..blue tooth..z wave. For this high price point Yale can and should do much better

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Surprise. It takes longer to install. 4-hour installation. Needed a firmware installation without any prior warning or notification. Firmware installation requires help from a representative and takes around 20 minutes to complete.

Can the WIFI module be swapped with a z-wave module for compatibility with Ring security hub?

Asked by: konuohas
I swapped the z-wave module that came with my previous model Z-wave Assure Lock into the new Assure 2 Lock, and it works fine with the Ring Alarm.  Yale claims this will not work (we are supposed to wait for the new version Z-wave module), but the previous module worked for me with the Ring alarm.

Does this model have a hard key option in the case that the lock dies or is malfunctioning? In other words is there a manual option to unlock the door if the code is not working.

Asked by: Andrea
Yale makes 2 versions. With or without key. The without key is obviously smaller package as no precision is required.  If you want key. Pick the other model which has the key hole.  Rest of it works the same.  Also you can use 9V battery as backup if battery dies.

Hello. I have some questions: 1. Is the wifi capability built into the lock for the $259 version "with wifi"? Or is it the same as the $179 version and has the same physical $79 module just included in as a bundle? Does either need a bridge?

Asked by: Mario
Hi, I purchased this unit recently. the answer is the latter—the main difference is the inclusion of a Wi-Fi module that does not require a bridge. The new modules do not require the Yale Wi-Fi bridge to operate.

Are these battery lives.. let's say keyed touchscreen with wifi, better than the previous older versions keyed touchscreen with wifi that needed a wifi module and bridge? Or are they the same battery life?

Asked by: Mario
The expected battery life of the new Yale Assure Lock 2 with Wi-Fi is about 3 months. The Bluetooth version is about 6-9 months

Can this lock be used for a gate? ie) is it weatherproof?

Asked by: Richard
No this lock is designed to be used on an entry door to a home - the inside of the lock, where the batteries are, must be inside the home.
