No more sweaty, damp interior of microwave after cooking a dish of oatmeal. Minor Negatives: I would have liked a way to dim the digital display which is *very* bright -- brilliant white numerals. Also, my 20+ year old previous OTR microwave had a feature to turn off the Sound, which was nice so I didn't have to hear bleeping sounds while pressing buttons. Overall: Very happy with my purchase, especially since the improved ventilation system definitely outweighs the minor negatives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love our new GE microwave This model is sleek & pretty, quiet running & I like the arrangement of the pads on the control panel. It has the traditional arrangement of the number pads. Numbers 1-6 are "Express Cook" which means with just one press you can start the oven going that number of minutes on high. I also like the white interior which has mostly flat, easy-to-clean surfaces. The light underneath completely illuminates the stove top & has 2 brightness settings. The vent fan is quiet & effective. The installation went very well. The wall bracket from the previous 18 yr. old oven (different brand) was nearly identical so we were able to reuse it. After installation, I removed the clinging plastic that covered most of the oven front, but missed the one covering the control panel. It fit perfectly, with no air bubbles, so it took a while to realize it was there. I noticed a scratch on it & thought we had already damaged our new oven! If I could change anything, it would be the brightness of the digital display. It has white numbers that are a little too bright for me. I might add a small piece of dimming sheet to tone it down, which you might want to do if you are also light sensitive.

is there a light and vent?

Yes, it does have both, but don't buy it's stop working for me in 16 months. This microwave is not well built.

It's only 18 months old. My microwave stop working. As soon as I press start, my circuit breaker flips. A service guy came to check, he said switch has a problem and to repair it will cost $230. GE should fix it without out of pocket cost or just replace.

Does this model have an outside vent option

No it is ductless it does not have a vent to be vented outside. But it does have a fan that circulates the air that you can turn on Manually.  Also when micro reaches a certain temperature it automatically turns on to cool it down

Probably not. We tried to use the old brackets and while they look similar they wouldn't work. Not sure now what model that was. It was a GE but about 9 years older
