Awesome little window AC
I got the 6000 BTU version for a teenager’s small bedroom. The unit was great. Very easy to install. Looks sleek. Having it available through the app is a nice bonus. Plan to replace older, less efficient units with other Windmill ACs this coming summer

Amazing!
Excellent product and outstanding customer service! The AC does a fantastic job keeping the room cool. The Upgrade of a Lifetime
My husband and I purchased two Wind units last summer after our (not so old) units from a certain brand experiencing awful mold issues were deemed unfit for use. We are so distraught and really put time and effort into shopping for replacements. When we found Windmill, we knew we found a brand we could trust. Installing the units was a breeze - I did it 99% by myself, with a quick hand from my husband to support them before locking in. The custom side panels are amazing! Create a chic and clean look that feels very well insulated. The whole profile of the units is sleek and designer looking. Operation-wise, the units are whisper quiet and cool extremely efficiently/quickly. We will be moving homes this summer, and I’m honestly excited (something I never thought I’d say) to get our units in the new windows! Windmill is an changer when it comes to window ACs.

World of Difference
Even though I had a new HVAC system installed, I was still uncomfortable upstairs, in my 1925 home. None of my friends had heard of Windmill before, but after I read a review on Wirecutter I decided to try one for my bedroom. It arrived quickly and it was light enough that I could carry it upstairs myself, with little effort (69 y.o. female). In less than 30 minutes, with a little assistance from my teenage granddaughter, we had it installed; it quickly & quietly cooled my upstairs, beyond the bedroom I purchased it for. This is almost so easy to install that one person could do it, but due to the original, 100 year-old windows it required two people to keep the window propped open. Placing and securing it was simple. I love that the vents blow upward and not directly on me. You can hear it cycle on, but I find it no more noticeable than my central a.c. and it does not interfere with my sleep. I'm very pleased with my purchase & the comfort it provides through the sweltering summer months.

Perfect for my Sunroom
Summers in Texas Hill Country can be brutal, especially in a windowed room with no central air. This gem has made my Sunroom a cool utopia for my pack of rescue dogs. Everything about the unit was a breeze (pun intended). The order arrived quickly. It unboxed easily, and setup was detailed step-by-step in the instructions. As a 64 y.o. woman, I was able to do the install all by myself. And with the app, I can control its functions from my phone. I am so impressed, I also bought a Windmill Air Purifier and Windmill Fan!

Quiet but powerful!
I live in a small apartment in NYC — the Windmill AC was perfect for my shoebox-sized room. I loved the fact that I could control it remotely to cool down my room before I got off the subway, and I found it incredibly intuitive to use. I’m moving to a larger apartment in a couple months and looking forward to getting a second one. Also, my roommate’s cat loves to sit by it too!

love my upgraded AC!
I've been using windmill ACs for several years now, and a major plus is that I can control the unit via the phone app even when I'm not home. Not only does it work well, the design of the AC looks beautiful in my apartment. I used the original model (6k BTU) for 3 years, but after moving last year I decided to get the new WhisperTech model (8k BTU) and am super impressed with how much quietier it is and how quickly it cools my home. The customer support has always been fantastic as well!

Love our ac!
We got this for our NYC apartment and love it. It came with everything we needed to set it up, and it looks as chic as an ac can in the window. It’s also well-insulated enough to stay up year-round, and of course it keeps the apartment nice and cool in the summer.

Cool in NYC
Had a few AC's over time and when it was time to replace I tried checking out the Windmill site.Picked out one that looked good and small for a NYC apartment with and was fair priced.When we got it, getting it into the window was super easy, and it looked great but let’s turn it on....When this was going on NYC was in the middle of a heatwave, so we got it just in time, and once we turned it on we wore pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was and even better, during a heatwave how fast we wore cool and comfortable.So if you're thinking of getting a Windmill from me it’s an easy “YES!”

Great A/C
This A/C has been a great investment. It cools very well, runs quiet, although I like the white noise for sleep. I haven’t had any issues with it staying connected to WiFi and the app works great. I set up an automation for it to come on at a certain time of the evening and it works flawlessly. Overall great product!

Fantastic Product
As a Coloradan, migrating to New York City five years ago was... sticky. Pretty sure I’d never experienced heat, humidity—ALL of it like it was in NYC. And to top it off, he’s a hot sleeper!! I tried serval units over several years until I finally found the one... Windmill! I’d still have it many years later if I hadn’t moved into a building w central air. THANK YOU WINDMILL

I love my windmill air conditioner. So quiet and efficient. The cooled air blows out from the top of the unit . The magnetic cover is a genius idea when cleaning the filter. Appealing to the eye and the side cover panels really add to the attractiveness of the unit . I’m planning on purchasing another in the future.

I purchased not just one but two Windmill air conditioners. The design is simplistic so it doesn’t stand out like a sore thumb in my bedrooms and living room. - The low humming as opposed to louder clanky sounds of the other typical brands is the selling point for me! I also like that I’m able to program it from my phone so on those hot days I can have the house cooled down before getting home. - customer service was also very accommodating and punctual. Overall I’m very happy with my purchase.

Very happy with the ac unit
I’m very happy and impressed with the Windmill air conditioner. I installed in our short term rental unit and it excels at all levels. One, it looks very good on both sides. Over the years I’ve had a number of units in the window. Some are aesthetically tolerable from the inside but all, up until the Windmill unit, are an eyesore from the exterior. Two, its functionality is elegant - straightforward and intuitive, and buttons are responsive. Three, the remote is attractive - which is a rarity for air conditioners.Four, the motor and fan is quiet but powerful - cooling the space quickly.And five, it seals very well around the window, with some very well thought out designs for air sealing and aesthetics.The unit is a little pricey compared to others but worth the cost. I plan to buy more for our house when the time comes.

A perfect AC
I am impossibly picky, so when I say my Windmill AC is perfect, I mean it. It is shockingly simple to install, has a super-sleek design, is energy efficient, and despite its outstanding cooling power, is whisper quiet to live with in my one-room studio apartment. It also comes from a small business, not a corporate behemoth, with a refreshingly personable approach to customer service. All that to say, I highly recommend the Windmill AC over all the rest. It really is perfect — even if you are impossibly picky like me.

Best Window AC I've Ever Had
The Windmill is the best window AC unit I've ever had. It looks great, is easy to maintain, has a good mobile app to control it remotely(not required, but useful), is easy to maintain, relatively quiet, and my favorite feature is that it blows cold air up, not out, so placing it in a window near a chair, seat, bed, etc. is much more comfortable than traditional window units. If you need a window AC, I'm not sure there is a better one on the market!

A life saver
This is such a top notch air conditioner it’s unbelievable. The app makes it so convenient to use and turn on before I’m getting ready for bed or whenever I get home. Also the air blowing up instead of out genuinely cools the room so much more. I have a very large master suite and it cools it down so well. Plus the look of it?? Amazing. It’s so seamless and not the bulky and ugly window units you are used to.

Great ACs and Customer Service
We’ve purchased 4 Windmill ACs over the years, replacing the old ones our apartment had installed. We’ve tried several of the older and newer major brands and Windmill is easily the easily the best combination of quiet enough to sleep with, quickest to cool a room, convenient (controlling and programming from their easy to use app), and best looking inside and outside (not so important but a welcome tally). Additionally, their customer service and warranty/replacement policies are great. Windmill’s ac’s work really well consistently, but nothing is perfect—when one of our machines inexplicably stopped working they replaced it really quickly (within two days!) at no charge. It’s always nice to be able to support a small business when you can and it’s even nicer when their products a great and they back it up.Oh, and reply to the owner’s, Mike’s, emails, he’ll respond and help out when needed!Very, very easy to recommend Windmill.

Best A/C we have ever had!
Living in Manhattan, we have always had in-window air-conditioning that has worked to varying degrees of success from other brands. Windmills AC unit worked as expected, and the integrated app was extremely useful and user-friendly. It wasn't hard to install by myself. We ended up getting a second for our spare room shortly after testing the first. Living through the extreme weather of New York didn't feel like a challenge at all. Highly recommend. Oh, also, their customer service is phenomenal in my experience. There was an issue with our second unit, but once I shared the video of the noise it was making, they rushed shipped a replacement. Tryuely felt like they cared about their brand.
