Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pick THIS lock! I chose the Yale lock for my Air B&B from among the myriad of choices available for smart locks. I definitely made the right choice! The app features and ability to share codes among multiple users is a game changer. The install was flawless and simple and I really like the sleek design and color choices. It is a really well thought out system. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for Airbnb I love this product. I have three Schlage lockers as well. They are good. However they do not have as long a battery life! They also do not work hand in hand with Airbnb like this lock does. Also the Wi-Fi reception is excellent compared to Schlage. Don’t get me wrong! The Schlage lock is very good. However I will be switching over to this lock because of the Airbnb functionality and the batteries last longer. For those of you who say this is not a good lock. SEND ME YOURS. ILL TAKE THEM.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good lock with slightly above average app Not a bad lock, The good: I think it works well. I’ve only started using it for a few days and it does make entry to my home a lot easier and effective. It’s slick and easy to install, not the loudest, at times I don’t even hear it lock and the buttons feel solid. The app walks you through all the steps you need to have it installed and up and running. To create a pass code, you need to go to the guest list and click on your name or add a person by inviting them. The guest list is the 3rd tab on the bottom of your Yale app. Yale doesn’t walk you through the passcode part of the app. Or maybe I missed that part. I can’t comment on the battery life of the wifi version as of now because I’ve only used it for less than a month. The meh: Let me just say you don’t have to use the door sense unless you want alerts if the door is left open or not closed all the way. That being said I think the door sense is very inefficient. I have my door sense by the door and not drilled into the door jam. I didn’t want to drill a hole so I went with the next to the door method. I tried calibrating the door sense about 8 times before I could get it to work. After it calibrated I try testing it out and let’s just say I disable it because it was unless. For my example I opened the app and checked when the door was recognized opened or closed. if I open my door half way open so about a 45 degree opening the app says my door is closed. And that is because at 45 degrees the Yale door lock is looking right at the door sense. It would say the door is opened if I have the door fully opened. If the Yale lock is in any way looking directly at the door sense the app would read my door as closed. If the door is left ajar the door sense works as it should as long as the Yale lock isn’t inline with the door sense. I think if you do drill it into the door frame it would would a lot better but I can’t call it. Thankfully the door sense doesn’t stop you from using any of the other features of the Yale lock. The bad: No apple home key integration. Even thou that might not be yales fault. Apple doesn’t make it easy for other companies to use their software. Lastly I think yales app is good enough but could be so much better. You only get a phone notification ( banners and or Lock Screen) if you use the Auto Unlock feature. If you set up auto lock, you don’t get a notification unless you open the app and check. I would love to have it pop up on my Lock Screen so I can just glance at my phone and boom I can see if the door locked and or when it auto locks. All in all for my first auto lock for the price I’m happy and would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable smart lock.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good, but could be better. Maybe firmware? Expensive but decent quality. Still needs some firmware updates and magnetic sensor is not reliable. Integrates with Apple Home well with the WiFi module, which adds a lot of functionality.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay Two locks I bought both failed. On one, updating the firmware helped, on another it failed to start. Got replacement that is working okay so far. Customer support was great to assist but sadly the rating is for the hardware.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hypeware missing adversities features Normal keypad lock with wifi. Unable to connect to nest or apple home apps. The Yale lock app is little to be desired assume they want you to use a 3rd party app to manage the lock. I have two of these and cannot configure them to be the same keypad combo.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lock Does not Work I purchased a Yale Assure Lock 2 with keypad / key, and had it installed yesterday (11/29). This product worked for about 12 hours, however this morning (11/30) I am having issues. When I tried to lock the lock from the outside by pressing the Yale button, the lock would not respond. I tried to input my entry code, and it would not work either. However, the lock began making a loud beeping noise that would not stop. I am still able to lock and unlock the door with the Yale app, as well as physically from the inside, but the keypad does not work. I have tried to change the batteries but this does not work either. This is a bad product and I am upset I spend hundreds of dollars on it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible battery I use this on a short term rental and it has caused me issues with every guest as it constantly runs out of battery. It doesn’t provide any warning and just stops working and guests can’t access the house. It requires new batteries atleast once per month.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Excessive Battery drain This lock continuously has terrible battery life. My sister, who I bought the lock for as a Christmas gift, went through hoops with support to finally get it replaced under warranty because they were replacing batteries like every 2 weeks. I'd say that was probably 6 mo or so ago that they got the replacement via warranty and now the battery drain problem has started up again. I've even gone over there to troubleshoot it a handful of times, did all the support suggested ideas, and it still drains the batteries a ridiculous amount.

What is the difference of keypad or touchscreen? Aren't they the same thing? advantages of each? To be honest the New lock models are hard to distinguish the real differences. So much is the same it seems but not

Asked by: Goliath
The touchscreen uses a touch button and does not click like the keypad. Water and such can cause issues with the "touchscreen", but I guess it doesn't have physical openings like the keypad?
